I went outside and got a better shot, as the moon was starting to lighten up. 4 sec, f/7.1, ISO 250. Looking pretty bloody now.
Pretty hazy tonight, with a front coming through. But once it was almost fully eclipsed, and with a slow enough shutter, I managed to catch the redness of it. Pretty cool.
(Canon 50D, Tamron 70-200@200mm, 6”, f/9.0, ISO 400)
Also, why isn’t it pronounced “blud mun” or “bloood mooon”? English is stupid.

I was trying to get a shot with my Nikon F100 on Fuji Superia 400 speed film, but Just as I set up, clouds rolled in and completely covered it.

Too much cloud cover here. Had my camera ready just in case, but no luck.

Bummer. Don’t worry, the next one will be around in 18 years.

It's overcast in Houston, so no super bloody big moon for us. A buddy of mine can see it in SA, glad Austin is clear tonight.

It’s really not all that big (so
she
said). I’ve seen bigger. But the color is cool. The camera captures more than the eye can see. It’s a bit hazy, but I took the top picture about 20 minutes after the first, and the moon had climbed a bit above the scud we’re experiencing here. Not super clear, but clear enough. Sorry you missed it. The next one will be along in 2033, though.

See, I’d like to have gotten a chance to shoot it with my A6000 but most of Southern Ontario was overcast so NOPE.
Hat tip for the pics!

Same here. I did manage to take a few shots and with a longer exposure it actually came out a bit but on top of that challenge the closest thing I have to a telephoto is my 50mm prime.
